Background
There are nine (9) representatives from the Urbana campus to the University Senates Conference. Continuing members of the Urbana delegation to the USC, and the years their terms expire:

Abbas Aminmansour (FAA)

Ph.D. (Civil Engineering), MS (Architectural Engineering), MA (Applied Mathematics), PSU and BA (Mathematics), KSU.
Associate Professor/Chair of Structures, Architecture, (2003-on).

Teaching/research: building Steel Structures; integrated design/construction; research results basis for new chapter, Manual of Steel Construction (2000/2005); manuscript Practical Design of Structural Steel (est. publication summer ’06); journal papers; invited lectures; conference presentations; paper/book reviews.

UIUC: Honorable Mention, Campus teaching excellence award, (2003-04); Incomplete list of excellent teachers for 2/3 of courses, Spring 2003-on; teaching excellence awards-PSU: Fellow, Leonhard Center; college/department Outstanding Teaching awards.

Karen Chapman-Novakofski (ACES)

Karen Chapman-Novakofski teaches clinical and community nutrition to undergraduate and graduate students; educates medical students and residents on medical nutrition therapy; and also provides community-based statewide outreach programs in her research focus of diabetes, osteoporosis, and healthy aging. Karen has over 100 abstracts, proceedings, and journal publications; and has been recognized nationally with awards and invited lectures. Elected to the Senate (1999-2005; 2006-2008), she has chaired Committee on Committees; served on Senate Council (currently Executive Committee); USSP and Educational Policy. Selected for the Experiment Station/Academic Programs national leadership program and as a Committee on Institutional Cooperation Academic Leadership fellow, Karen has recently been selected as a Global Scholar in ACES. Through her committee work in the
College of Medicine, Karen has had experience with the dual campus approach when both UIUC and UIC were involved; through the Divison of Nutritional Sciences she has been involved with students at UIC. Karen has also collaborated with colleagues at UIS for service learning projects, so has some knowledge of both UIS and UIC campuses.

Joseph Finnerty (BUS)
Joe Finnerty has been a Professor of Finance at the U of I since 1984. He has served as the Chair of the University Statutes and Senate Procedures Committee since 2002. He has been a member of the Senate Executive Committee since 2002. He is a member of the University Senates Conference (USC) since 2004 and is a member of the Executive Committee of USC and chair of the USC Statutes Committee. He has also served as UIUC Senate and USC Observer to the Board of Trustee's meetings. He was a member of the Chancellor's Budget Committee which designed and implemented the current Campus Budget Oversight Committee (CBOC). He was a member of the Chancellor's Research Park Committees which laid the ground work for the South Farm's Research Park.
